Advice or the Gospel? The Limits of Human Counsel and the Transforming Gospel

Counsel can rearrange a life; the gospel resurrects one. We examine the boundary line where pastoral advice ends and the announcement of God's saving act in Christ begins.

Romans 1:16-17

Counsel can rearrange a life. The gospel resurrects one. Both are gifts, but they are not the same gift, and the church gets into trouble when it confuses them.

The pastor’s two voices
